Isaiah Rashad: “He Just Played Me a Whole [K.] Dot Album, Damn Near”
"He just played me a whole [K] Dot album, damn near."
When TDE head honcho Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith teased at least two more album releases in 2018 on Twitter last week, with the possibility of four, it was widely assumed those projects belonged to, in order of likelihood, ScHoolboy Q, Reason, Isaiah Rashad and Ab-Soul.
But what if one of the four were Kendrick Lamar?
According to Rashad, who went on Instagram Live on Sunday with Tiffith to share a few details about his long-awaited new album, a Kendrick Lamar project is "damn near" in the can.
"[Tiffith] just played me a whole [K] Dot album, damn near," Rashad told fans.
It might be hard to believe because it seems like just yesterday that the video for "HUMBLE." blew up the Internet, but it's actually been 17 months since Kendrick Lamar released his GRAMMY-winning four studio album, DAMN. While Lamar served as an executive producer and curator for the Black Panther Soundtrack released earlier this year, it isn't out of the question for him to return with a brand new full-length just in time for the holiday season.
As for the man who shared this most-welcome information, Isaiah Rashad is currently hard at work on the follow-up to 2016's acclaimed The Sun's Tirade.
We have reached out to TDE for further comment on the possibility of a new Kendrick Lamar album arriving before the end of 2018. We do not anticipate a reply, but, you know, journalism.
